Environmental Management Guideline

Our company is actively responding to environmental issues such as climate change, fine dust, waste, and chemicals with high social interest based on the management ideology of "Sincerity Construction, Responsible Management." Environmental guidelines were established in accordance with environmental management policies, company regulations, and internal guidelines.


To minimize negative environmental impacts during construction, the following activities are being promoted and expanded to stakeholders and business partners: In addition, we are striving to obtain ISO 14001, an international standard related to environmental management.


Today, Our company is meeting the expectations of the people who have higher standards regarding quality of life; moreover, it is taking the initiative to respond to environmental issues, such as climate change, particulate pollutants, waste disposal and chemical discharge. Accordingly, environmental guidelines were established according to environmental management policies, related company regulations, and internal guidelines, and through this, we intend to make efforts to realize eco-friendly construction according to the company's goal of "Promoting Human and Environment First".


By engaging in the following activities, Our company is minimizing the adverse environmental impact generated during business and production processes; in addition, the scope of our efforts are expanded to partner companies across the entire supply chain.

Work Site Environment Management
As a means to manage the environment of our plants and other work sites, we have processes and procedures, such as goals, such as KPIs, training, drills and work guidelines, how to manage those guidelines and internal evaluation. In addition, standards (Comprehensive Management Guidelines on Environment and Energy, Air Pollution Management, Waste Management, among others) are defined in each functional department so that performance can be managed. In particular, by employing eco-friendly production processes and optimal prevention technologies, we have reduced waste discharge to a minimum level.
Production Operation & Maintenance
To minimize environmental pollutants generated by Our company's operation and maintenance of its production facilities, we publish and enforce the Environmental Management Manual. By providing differentiated production and maintenance guidelines tailored to the different production processes, we are able to continually monitor the environmental impact of equipment operation, and to improve and manage them.
Product Development, Services and Logistics
In making the transition to a low-carbon economy, we recognize both challenges and opportunities. As a means to address climate change, we are expanding the supply of eco-friendly products and its manufacturing by-products to contribute to avoided emissions. In addition, our low-carbon steel product portfolio is becoming more robust with High Strength Steel that makes vehicles lighter and high-efficiency electric steel. Lithium, cathode and anode materials, which comprise the core component of lithium-ion batteries, are actively under research and development. In addition, Our company uses various guidelines to minimize adverse environmental risks that can be generated during transportation.
Waste Management
From waste generation to disposal, Our company manages the full cycle of its waste by defining and enforcing the guidelines that cover the following areas of management: project scope; definition of terminology; authority and accountability; recycling collection and storage facility; waste generation, collection, storage and disposal; triage upon environmental pollution incident; outsourced service agreement and monitoring.
Selection & ESG Assessment of Suppliers
When selecting from a pool of external service providers (supplier, contractor, service provider), by assessing them on their ESG capability, such as their ability to manage the environment, Our company is making an effort to minimize adverse environmental impact. Moreover, all suppliers must sign and agree to comply with the 'Our company Group Supplier Code of Conduct,' which is based on the environmental and human rights provisions of the UN Global Compact. Finally, annual supplier performance evaluation helps to conduct advanced management of environmental risks across the entire supply chain.
New Projects and Mergers & Acquisitions(M&A)
In the process of new business and investment assessment, Our company makes sure to review expected qualitative and quantitative ESG benefits, as well as investment risks and response measures. Through environmental guidelines and environmental impact assessment, we make efforts to reduce environmental risk generated by new businesses. In addition, when evaluating a merger and acquisition, due diligence process identifies response measures in advance by reviewing ESG risks that include environmental risk.
